This course is an overview of the law of employment discrimination, with a focus on federal law, New York State law, and New York City law. Topics covered include (1) the “at will” employment rule and the anti-discrimination laws, (2) causes of action that may be asserted under those laws, and (3) remedies and damages. Where appropriate and applicable, note will be made of the practical application of these principles in the context of representing plaintiffs.
